The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) ushered in the holiday season with the grand opening of the Liwanag Park at its Pasig City headquarters on 29 November 2024. The event highlighted the company’s dedication to brightening lives both within and beyond its franchise areas.
First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos (3rd from left) and Meralco Chairman and CEO Manuel V. Pangilinan (3rd from right) led the festive lighting ceremony. The event also showcased Meralco’s milestone of serving eight million customers and honored eight “light bearers” from its diverse customer base.

The celebration also recognized eight community partners of the One Meralco Foundation (OMF) for their electrification initiatives, reinforcing Meralco's mission to bring light to underserved communities.
“To our eight million customers, we welcome a milestone for Meralco, we thank you for being a consequential part of our 121-year history. This inspires us to continue lighting lives, one connection at a time,” Pangilinan said.
The Meralco Liwanag Park, adorned with vibrant LED displays inspired by the theme “Paskong Pinoy,” features the iconic Lopez Building façade and other holiday decorations. Open to the public from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. until 31 December 2024, the park continues a beloved tradition started in 1998, bringing joy and hope to Filipinos every Christmas season.
