Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle was recently honored by a New York-based media outlet for his religious contributions.

Tagle, who currently serves as the Pro-Prefect for the Section of Dicastery for Evangelization of the Roman Curia in the Vatican, has been named the recipient of the Religious Leader Award from the Catholic Faith Network (CFN).

In a statement, CFN President and CEO Rev. Monsignor James Vlaun cited Cardinal Tagle's "dedication to evangelizing and service to the Church."

"This recognition celebrates his significant contributions to the Church and the use of television and social media in his ministry," Jesuit Communications (JESCOM) said in a separate statement.

Tagle hosts The Word Exposed and The Faith Exposed, both produced by JESCOM. The former Manila Archbishop is also one of the hosts of Kape't Pandasal, an early morning devotional program typically aired after TV sign-on sequences.

JESCOM's programs currently air on the Bilyonaryo News Channel. It also operates Ateneo de Manila's Radyo Katipunan 87.9.

Founded in 1969, CFN broadcasts live religious services, talk shows, devotional programs, educational programming, entertainment, and children's programs. It also offers coverage of special events at the Vatican and papal journeys.
