Farmers and fishermen gathered for the launching of the AGRISENSO Plus Lending Program, a revitalized agricultural financing initiative spearheaded by LandBank in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture (DA) and Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).
Landbank President and CEO Lynette Ortiz led the event, while Presidential Adviser for Poverty Alleviation, Secretary Larry Gadon provided a message of support, commending Agrisenso Plus with affirmation that the revolutionary program will help alleviate farmers and fishermen from poverty.
Gadon also praised the Agrisenso Program of Landbank on its financial assistance to micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), citing that an estimate of 65.10 percent of national employment is generated thru MSMEs.
The program was introduced to address the financial and capacity-building needs of small farmers, fishers, and agribusinesses across the country.
The AGRISENSO Plus Lending Program has a P10 billion fund allocation and aims to benefit 10,000 small farmers, fishermen, and agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) through accessible credit, low-interest rates, and capacity-building support.
The initiative directly aligns with President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s vision of reducing the country's poverty incidence to single digits.
"This program is a vital step toward empowering rural communities and elevating our farmers and fishers from poverty," Gadon remarked during the launch.
Through expanded partnerships and inclusive financial mechanisms, AGRISENSO Plus underscores LandBank’s commitment to supporting the agriculture sector and ensuring national food security.
