On Friday, 29 November, PLEDIS Entertainment confirmed that its exclusive contract with K-pop girl group fromis_9 will conclude on 31 December 2024.
Formed in 2017 through the reality show Idol School, fromis_9 initially debuted as a nine-member group under Stone Music Entertainment with their EP "To. Heart" in 2018. The group later transitioned to Off the Record Entertainment and eventually to PLEDIS Entertainment in 2021.
During their time with PLEDIS, the group released popular tracks such as "Talk & Talk," "Stay This Way," and "Supersonic."
The group is currently composed of eight members: Lee Sae Rom, Song Ha Young, Park Ji Won, Roh Ji Sun, Lee Seo Yeon, Lee Chae Young, Lee Na Gyung, and Baek Ji Heon. Member Jang Gyu Ri departed in July 2022.
As a farewell gesture, fromis_9 will release a special "fan song" on 23 December to express gratitude to flover, fromis_9’s fanbase. The group will also fulfill their remaining schedules under PLEDIS Entertainment before parting ways.
"We discussed at length with the members regarding their future paths and have reached an amicable decision to end the exclusive contracts," the agency stated.
