Singaporean, Chinese nationals intercepted

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) reported that two foreign nationals were arrested at international airports in Manila and Pampanga after violating the immigration law.

According to BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco, two aliens were involved: a Chinese national who attempted to depart from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on 9 May and a Singaporean passenger who arrived at Clark International Airport (CIA) on the same day.

Tansingco stated that the two will be deported for violating the Philippine immigration laws. They will also be blacklisted at BI and barred from re-entering the country.

The two arrested foreign nationals were identified as Mohamed Faisal Ahmad Kamal, a 45-year-old Singaporean and Xue Gang, a 33-year-old Chinese national.

Based on the report, Kamal was arrested at CIA in Pampanga for using a tampered passport. The BI officer found that there were pages detached from his passport, which he attempted to hide from his previous travels to the country.

According to the Bureau, Kamal’s travel was being monitored after he was suspected of escorting a Filipina worker out of the country on 28 April to Singapore. The BI believes that the woman was recruited to work as an entertainer in the country.

Meanwhile, Xue was arrested at NAIA after he attempted to depart the country at NAIA Terminal 3 via a China Southern Airlines flight bound for Guangzhou, China.

Xue was barred from leaving after he was found to be on the BI’s derogatory list of foreigners wanted for involvement in cyber fraud activities.

Both Kamal and Xue were later turned over to personnel of the BI’s border Control and Intelligence Unit, who later transferred them to the BI warden facility in Camp Bagong DiwaTaguig City. They will remain in the facility while undergoing deportation proceedings.
