Bulusan seismic activities ease

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported on Saturday a decrease in seismic activities at Mount Bulusan in Sorsogon province.

State volcanologists have recorded only eight volcanic earthquakes in the past 24 hours, a huge decline from the 89 earthquakes registered from Thursday midnight to Friday midnight.

Bulusan Volcano remains under Alert Level 1, which means there is a low level of unrest with increased chances of steam-driven or phreatic eruptions.

The volcano’s plume is obscure, and its edifice is inflated, Phivolcs said.
