Intensified security eyed for Sto. Niño Feast

DAVAO CITY — The Davao City Police Office announced that it is all set for the security plan on the coming feast of the Shrine of the Holy Infant Jesus of Prague on 15 January 2024.

With the expected influx of crowd that will flock the Shrine of the Holy Infant Jesus of Prague at Shrine Hills Matina in this city, DCPO spokesperson PCapt. Hazel Tuazon said 80 police personnel from the DCPO will be deployed on site to assist in monitoring the area surrounding the chapel.

She added that around 50,000 people are expected to attend the celebration.

“Our personnel to be deployed are now ready. We have 80 personnel from the DCPO, not including the personnel from the police station whose area of responsibility covers the chapel, this also does not include the force multipliers and volunteers,” Tuazon said.

The DCPO spokesperson also said that a one-entrance, one-exit policy will be implemented during the feast as attendees may only reach the chapel from the Matina road, and exit through the Diversion Road.
