President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said that every Filipino has a part to play in transforming and improving the country in pursuit of his administration's goal of a "Bagong Pilipinas (New Philippines)."
In his BBM Vlog No. 252 released over the weekend, the Chief Executive advocated for community and individual involvement to help Filipinos make the Philippines a better country.
"Our aspirations for the country is one of the priorities in our New Year's resolutions because there's still much to do, much to improve, and much to fix for our continuous progress towards a New Philippines," he said in his video message, as he explained the concept of Bagong Pilipinas about everyone's New Year's resolution.
In order to effect change, Marcos also emphasized the necessity of every Filipino, family, and even barangay becoming involved.
Furthermore, Marcos stated that the Community Development Day over the weekend served as a reminder of the significance of fostering and growing local communities around the country.
He also urged everyone to work toward self-improvement and discipline, emphasizing the need to be on time, industrious, and frugal with their finances in order to contribute to the advancement of the Philippines.
"In the coming weeks, you will further understand and feel the meaning of the New Philippines. We will strengthen the encouragement for everyone to be part of enhancing our barangays, cities, provinces, and the entire country. Because there's no New Philippines without a New Filipino," Marcos said.
Marcos also urged Filipinos to read more books, pick up new skills, practice self-discipline and improve personal hygiene, and develop into better family members and citizens.
The President also asked Filipino drivers to practice defensive driving, pointing out that "road rage" never solves anything.
"Let's not be carried away by anger. I understand that too; I drive as well, and sometimes tempers can flare. But let's not let that get to us," Marcos added.
