This was disclosed by Artes in an interview saying the agency has many projects in the pipeline particularly in ICT thus they will push for the upgrading of CCTV and installing additional units to widen the coverage.

Artes said the MMDA Communications and Command Center monitors the National Capital Region as it is receiving feeds from its 203 high tech CCTV's installed in the major thoroughfares in the metropolis.

The CCTVs are connected to the underground fiber optic cable network spanning 800 kilometers in the metropolis to ensure wide coverage and immediate response to any eventuality.

This is the longest fiber optic communication infrastructure in Metro Manila and 9,400 kilometers additional underground fiber optic is being laid down which is being done in cooperation with the Department of Information and Communications Technology.
