BARMM approves 2024 budget

COTABATO CITY — The Bangsamoro Parliament unanimously approved the P98.4-billion 2024 Bangsamoro Expenditure Program for the Bangsamoro Region, a substantial increase of 15.36 percent compared to the current year's budget of P85.3 billion.

Bangsamoro Transition Authority media relations officer Sheila dela Cruz on Friday said that members of the Parliament unanimously approved the 2024 Bangsamoro Expenditure Program on Thursday night.

She added that the swift approval of the P98.4-billion 2024 Bangsamoro Expenditure Program was certified as urgent by Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim.

The approval of the measure was the fastest deliberation since the interim government's transition in 2019, political analysts in the Bangsamoro region observed.
