4PH program to roll out in Davao City next year

DAVAO CITY — An official said Monday that he is optimistic that the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) program will roll out here next year.

Office of the Presidential Assistant for Eastern Mindanao (OPAMINE) Secretary Leo Tesoro Magno said the proposals and designs from various developers, targeting around 180,000 Dabawenyo beneficiaries, are being finalized.


"The developer will give their proposal to Mayor Sebastian Duterte for the housing designs," he added.

He said that in order to avail of the project, the local government unit must provide vacant lots to be utilized for the housing.

Magno added that together with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), they are eyeing around 6.5 million housing units to address the backlogs in the country.

"This project will really address the housing backlogs. It is a very good project from the Office of the President because it will also give decent housing for the Filipinos," he added. 


Magno said they are hoping the proposal and design from the developers will be done so that by January next year, they can commence the construction of the housing program," he added.
