CAAP-CATC completes air transport reassessment program

From 4 to 8 December 2023, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines–Civil Aviation Training Centre successfully completed its reassessment in connection with the International Civil Aviation Organization's TRAINAIR PLUS Programme.

Since 2013, the CATC has been an associate member of ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS. Reassessments are carried out to make sure the training facility complies with the TRAINAIR Plus membership at least once every three years, or more frequently if necessary.

The ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS Program, launched in 2010, is a cooperative network of training organizations and industry partners working together to develop and deliver ICAO-recognized training packages. The program promotes training collaboration, aiming to support the safe, secure and sustainable development of global air transport.

At ICAO's farewell interview, Director General Captain Manuel Antonio L. Tamayo, Deputy Director General for Operations Captain Edgardo G. Diaz and Deputy Director General for Administration Atty. Danjun G. Lucas confirmed that the CATC complies with the program's standards.

The ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS reassessment was conducted by Hervé Touron, Head, Training Assessments and Consultancy Unit, and Rolando Tamayo, ICAO Senior TRAINAIR PLUS Expert. The Chief of Global Aviation Training, Laura Camastra, was also in attendance.
