UP, UPAA, DoLE ink jobs agreement

The Department of Labor and Employment celebrated its 90th anniversary recently at the PICC Jose Rizal Hall, an event highlighted by the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the University of the Philippines and the UP Alumni Association, or UPAA.

UP graduates and professionals would benefit from the collaboration among the state university, its alumni association and DoLE through the delivery of employment services such as job sourcing and recruitment.

The partnership aims to determine existing gaps and address skills and job opening mismatches of UP graduates vis-a-vis industry requirements.

In gracing the DoLE celebration, UPAA was led by its president and regent Robert Lester Aranton, second vice president Dindo Sanchez and director Garry Hidalgo.

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin was also present during the event as the guest of honor, representing President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

DoLE's anniversary held last 7 December was dubbed "Gabi ng Parangal at Pasasalamat."
