The local government of Cainta, Rizal will be taking over the town's garbage collection starting next year, municipal administrator Keith Nieto said on Monday.
"By next year, the municipality will take over our garbage collection. At present, we have 25 trucks ready for transition," he added.
Nieto said the local government has acquired more than one-hectare lot for the town's recycling plant and equipment depot.
"Mayor Elen (Nieto) has ordered to repair our material recovery facility. We cemented a large part of it to be a parking lot for all equipment and trucks of the municipality," he added.
Meanwhile, the town's power wash team has washed the eastbank road of floodway.
"We cleaned the grease on the sidewalks and accumulated soils in the canals," Nieto said.
