PBBM recovers from COVID-19, no longer showing symptoms

Malacañang on Saturday said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has "recovered" and is no longer showing symptoms of coronavirus disease or COVID-19. 

In a statement, the Presidential Communication Office said Marcos has already completed his mandatory five-day isolation period. 

"President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr is progressing well in his recovery. Today, on the fifth day of home isolation, the President is now free from cough, nasal congestion, and fever for more than 24 hours," PCO wrote in a social media post. 

The PCO said Marcos was closely monitored by medical professionals during his entire home isolation period.

"All other medical findings were unremarkable. Consequently, the President's final diagnosis is COVID-19, Recovered," it added. 

Marcos is set to complete his full isolation period by Sunday. 

As a safety precaution after his isolation period, Marcos was advised by his doctor to continue wearing face masks for at least 10 days throughout his public engagements.

According to the revised guidelines of the Department of Health, the symptomatic and asymptomatic individuals infected with Covid-19 are required to undergo a five-day home isolation. It also mandates patients to wear a well-fitted face mask for 10 days after undergoing isolation. 
 

The isolation may be shortened for those who are "fever-free for at least 24 hours without using antipyretics such as paracetamol and with improvement of respiratory systems."
