Solon extends aid to Olongapo City residents

Olongapo City, Zambales — Senator Imee Marcos on Friday led the distribution of Assistance to Individual in Crisis Situations to some 1,000 beneficiaries here.

The AICS program is a social safety net or a stop-gap mechanism under the Department of Social Welfare and Development to support the recovery of individuals and families from unexpected crisis such as illness or death of a family member and other crisis situations.

Zambales Representative Jay Khonghun and Mayor Lenj Paulino assisted the senator in the distribution at the Rizal Triangle where children were given toys and food while being treated to a magic show.

The lawmaker also distributed P3,000 cash assistance from the DSWD to thousands of beneficiaries in the city.

While here, Marcos also conducted a dialogue with residents, where she consulted them with regard to enhancing the government programs on urban development.
