Aussie ‘pedo’ falls

The Bureau of Immigration reported on Thursday that its operatives apprehended an 81-year-old Australian man who is facing sexual assault charges in his country.

The BI-Fugitive Search Unit identified the suspect as David John Buckley, who is now detained at the BI Warden Facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City, pending his deportation.

BI commissioner Norman Tansingco narrated that Buckley was arrested on 21 November in Bantayan Island, Cebu and stressed that the foreign national will be deported as soon as the BI Board of Commissioners issues the order for his summary deportation.

The BI Chief added that his presence is not welcome in the country and he will be placed on the BI's blacklist, banning him from re-entering the country.

The Federal police in Queensland, Australia have two arrest warrants out for Buckley on grounds of rape and indecent treatment of minors and the charges reportedly stemmed from a 2021 complaint filed against Buckley in Papua New Guinea.
