Mandaluyong Mayor Benjamin Abalos Sr. on Monday led the Christmas tree lighting at the City hall lobby over the weekend to usher in the Christmas season.

Alongside the switching on of the Christmas tree was the opening of around 300 stalls inside and outside the city hall where the public could choose their preferred products.

The Christmas bazaar is open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. along with a variety of nightly shows that include a chorale singing contest from the city SK (Sangguniang Kabataan).

Dubbed as "Paskuhan sa Tiger City," the festival will last up to 6 January  2024.

Abalos said the objective of the project was to give small entrepreneurs a chance to sell their products to the public yearly and also to show the different talents of Manda;uyong residents while providing entertainment to those who will come to watch.

The said "Paskuhan sa Tiger City" is well known as a yearly presentation of the local government simultaneous with other neighboring cities.

The project was started by former mayor and president DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos Jr. since 2008 but was canceled in 2020 when the Covid-19 pandemic struck.
