Ex-mayor wants ‘CAINTAyo’ program revived

Former mayor and now Cainta municipal administrator Keith Nieto said he wants to revive the "CAINTAyo" feeding program by next year.
The feed-for-all program, which was launched by Nieto before the Covid-19 pandemic, seeks to feed thousands of poor residents in the town.
He said government must ensure no one is hungry in their locality.
"We will revive it maybe by next year. The concept is that no one will sleep hungry in Cainta," he told this reporter in an interview over the weekend.

Those intending to join the gathering must line up at 6 p.m. just to eat with two viands and a cup of rice. They should also bring their own utensils — their own plate, their own spoon and fork.
The nightly feast serving at least 1,000 constituents from the town's informal settler communities started on 30 January 2019 at Westbank Road, Floodway, Barangay San Andres.
