All cases against me have been dismissed-Consing

Maharlika Investment Corporation President and CEO Rafael Consing Jr. on Tuesday said that all cases filed against him have been dismissed.

The controversy surrounding Consing had taken a new turn as netizens expressed concerns over his alleged involvement in a fraud case alongside his mother, Cecilia de Cruz before President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. appointed him for the position.

The MIC's revised IRR states that the board of directors may be disqualified if he is convicted by final judgment or has pending administrative, civil, or criminal cases related to fraud, plunder, corrupt practices, money laundering, and tax evasion.

"All cases filed against me have been dismissed," Consing told reporters in a brief statement.

The updated IRR of the MIF granted the President the power to approve or disapprove nominees by the MIC's Advisory Body for positions on the Board.

In January, Marcos highlighted the MIF in his introductory statements at the Philippines Country Strategy Dialogue in Davos, emphasizing its role as an economic catalyst. He further mentioned that the initiative would finance essential infrastructure projects.
