Marcos names new PRA general manager, board members

Malacañang on Saturday announced the appointment of the new general manager and board members of the Philippine Reclamation Authority.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has appointed Cesar Siador Jr. as general manager and chief executive officer of the PRA.

Siador, who served as the regional director of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources' Environmental Management Bureau, was also tapped as a Board of Directors member of the state-run reclamation agency.

Siador will be joined by Alexander Lopez and Anthony Peter Crisologo as board members.

The PRA, formerly Public Estates Authority, was created under Presidential Decree 1084 issued on 4 February 1977—designated as the agency primarily responsible for integrating, coordinating, and directing all reclamation projects on behalf of the national government.

It was also tasked to serve as the clearing house for all reclamation projects in the country.

PRA also has the power and authority to develop and dispose of public lands; enter into contracts and loan agreements with private, public, or foreign entities; and exercise the right to eminent domain in the name of the Republic of the Philippines.
