14 more Filipinos cross Rafah border totaling 98 Filipinos safely exited conflict-stricken Gaza Strip

The Philippine envoy in Egypt on Saturday announced the number of Filipinos who have safely exited the Israel-Hamas conflict-stricken Gaza Strip has now reached 98.

This, as the third batch, consisting of 14 Filipinos and their Palestinian families, were able to cross the Rafah border and enter the Egyptian territory as of 10 November, according to Philippine Ambassador Ezzedin Tago.

"The Embassy team at the Egyptian side of the border, led by Vice Consul Bojer B. Capati, assisted the #Filipinos and facilitated their entry to #Egypt, in coordination with the Egyptian border authorities and the Philippine Embassies in Amman, Jordan and Tel Aviv, Israel," Tago said.

He noted that the third batch of overseas Filipinos will travel to Cairo, and another team from the Philippine Embassy in Cairo will assist them with their accommodations and their flights home will be immediately arranged.

Tago said the first batch, consisting of 35 individuals, had already headed to the Philippines through the Cairo International Airport.
