Inmates given free legal consultation

Free legal assistance was provided recently by the Public Attorney's Office-Puerto Princesa City District Office for individuals who are currently incarcerated at the Correctional Institution for Women-Sta. Lucia located inside the Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm.
It was part of IPPF's 29th National Correctional Consciousness Week celebration, reflecting its commitment to extending vital assistance to those persons deprived of liberty within its custody.
Atty. Oscar M. Cardaño Jr. led the legal team from PAO-PPC in conducting an informative session, shedding light on the various avenues available for the release of PDLs.
The discussion included an in-depth explanation of the Good Conduct Time Allowance Law and its corresponding computation process.
The PDLs were encouraged to voice their legal concerns concerning their individual cases during the event.
The legal team diligently addressed all inquiries, assuring the PDLs that they would receive regular updates on the status of their concerns.

Remulla immediately issued marching orders to BuCor Director General Gregorio Catapang Jr. to effect the needed reforms to instill discipline not only to the PDLs but their personnel as well.
