Aurora farmers urged: Sell palay wisely

Baler, Aurora — The National Food Authority has recently urged rice farmers in Aurora to sell their palay alongside the agency's implementation of a price increase to provide farmers fair income while the bought palay will be used as rice buffer stock of the agency used during calamities.

NFA Grains Infrastructure Directorate Baler under Nueva Ecija Branch Warehouse Supervisor Catherine Magcalas said that the price increase was approved by the NFA Council on 18 September of this year.

The dry and cleaned palay is bought for P23 per kilo while the fresh and wet palay is sold for P19 per kilo.
