Kalinga All Saints’ Day peaceful

BAGUIO CITY — The Kalinga Provincial Police Office on Wednesday announced that the observance of Undas in the province has been generally peaceful, just like in the recent Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections last Monday.

Kalinga PPO Information Officer P/Capt. Ruff Manganip said that the peaceful atmosphere in the cemeteries of Kalinga — particularly in Tabuk City — started even during the people started cleaning the tomb of their loved ones.

He added that they recorded no untoward incidents during the Undas season in the province.

Over at the cemetery of Barangay Nambaran, Tabuk City, tourists are also flocking the grave site as tombs in the cemetery are artistically constructed.

Most tombs are shaped or designed like animals, vehicles and cakes, among others. One of the most popular design is the tomb shaped as a bottle of a local gin favorite. The design depends on the wish of the person when he or she was still alive or the family.
