Jeep Alabang in Muntinlupa City opened its doors on 16 October to unveil a notable feature of the Sahara Unlimited Edition 4×4 — the removable Freedom Top.

The event, dubbed Tops Off, was attended by Auto Icon vice president Cris Bofill and Jeep Alabang sales manager Jon Semaña, along with motoring media, dealership guests, Inchcape Philippines representatives, and guest customers including actor Albert Martinez.

The spotlight of the event was the Jeep Sahara Unlimited's Freedom Top, a removable three-piece hard top that invites open-air driving.

A live demonstration showcased four individuals removing the top in under three minutes using six bolts. Solo removal would take about 15 to 20 minutes, with the necessary tools included in the vehicle's purchase. This demo emphasized Jeep's theme of open-air freedom.

Powered by a 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine with 270 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque, the Sahara Unlimited Edition 4×4 offers selectable 4×4 and drive modes.

A brief test drive showed a well-balanced suspension for city driving, a pleasing feature given the vehicle's off-road capability. The ride was smooth, highlighting its comfort for on-road use.

This edition ties back to Jeep's long-standing tradition of rugged vehicles ready for both on and off-road challenges. The Freedom Top takes forward Jeep's theme of open-air freedom, now paired with an easy ride in urban settings, appealing to a wider range of drivers.

Attendees were presented with special offers during the event. Semaña shared a P200,000 discount on the Sahara variant, usable as a direct discount, for accessories, or as a subsidy for the pack.

The Jeep Wrangler Sahara and the Rubicon have already found a place among off-road enthusiasts. The Tops Off event further showed the ease of transitioning from a covered top to an open-air setting, echoing Jeep's message of open-road freedom.

Priced at an SRP of P5,290,000, with the added discount offer, the Jeep Wrangler Sahara now stands ready to hit the roads, promising a mix of city comfort and the age-old appeal of open-air driving.
