China’s Xi says Belt and Road to ‘inject new impetus’ into global economy

Xi Jinping said Wednesday that the Belt and Road infrastructure initiative would aim to "inject new impetus" into the global economy, state media reported, as he addressed a forum of international delegates in Beijing.

"The BRI aims to enhance policy, infrastructure, trade, financial and people-to-people connectivity, inject new impetus into the global economy," Xi said, according to a readout from state news agency Xinhua.
