Aid readied for Israel, Palestine repatriates

The government is ready to assist Filipino migrant workers who will be repatriated from war-torn Israel and Palestine, Secretary Rex Gatchalian of the Department of Social Welfare and Development said Friday.

The assistance will be under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations initiative and the Sustainable Livelihood Program of the DSWD, Gatchalian said.

The AICS provides medical assistance, burial, transportation, education, food, or financial assistance to qualified beneficiaries.

The SLP, on the other hand, provides livelihood assistance to the poor, vulnerable, and marginalized communities.

The maximum cash assistance given under AICS is P10,000 while a maximum of three students per household can avail of the educational assistance under the DSWD program.
