DA, Tarlac university ink pact on smart agriculture

Camiling, Tarlac — The Department of Agriculture and the Tarlac Agricultural University recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the Launching of the Smart Agriculture Through Vegetable Derby here.

The program aims to boost the food security and sustainable food production in the country, particularly in Central Luzon thru the production of vegetables utilizing greenhouse production.

TAU president Dr. Max P. Guillermo and DA Regional Field Office 3 High Value Crops Development Program Focal Person Engr. AB Pangilinan-David led the signing of the agreement.

Guillermo expressed his gratitude to the agency for providing the opportunity to launch the greenhouse production farming inside their university.

David, on the other hand, cited that the greenhouse production farming is a great program especially for the next generation of agriculturists. He added that through this process, they can predict the development of technology in farming, citing that farmers will now have a greater output of products and income using greenhouse production.

The program is in collaboration with the Allied Botanical Corporation, Texicon Agri Ventures Corporation, Ramgo International Corporation, and the Enviro Scope Synergy Inc.
