"Stress Drilon" trended all Saturday as a milk tea brand used this popular vernacular slang for their first video ad. Newscaster Ces Drilon is seen navigating a series of comically stressful situations: Mistakenly putting salt in her coffee; heaving a sigh of relief as her car avoided nails in the carport only to see her tire is flat anyway; and smugly smiling to herself that she brought an umbrella as it rained only…we won't spoil it for you.
In between every unfortunate event, Drilon is seen punching and piercing the plastic film of a giant milk tea sculpture, hurling invectives all around. The ad clearly stuck a relatable chord with netizens. The term "Stress Drilon" was never mentioned or spelled out in the ad but, everybody is in on the reference. Ces Drilon wasn't even identified, and being a picture of decorum as a newscaster in real life, this very stressed Drilon offered another comedic touch point. Ad makers just trusted people would get the point. Being in the trending topic all day, they clearly succeeded.
Can we expect a Haggardo Versoza next?
