Illegal drugs worth P14M seized at NAIA

The Bureau of Customs Port of NAIA reported on Monday afternoon that 10 abandoned packages containing illegal drugs from various nations were discovered at the Central Mail Exchange Center in Domestic Road, Pasay City.

The BOC-NAIA said the first five abandoned parcels contained 544 ml of liquid marijuana with an estimated value of P32,640.

The other five abandoned parcels contained 8,446 tablets of Ecstasy and 924 grams of raw materials with an estimated value of P14,358,200.

The parcels containing liquid marijuana were shipped from Taipei, Ireland and Malaysia. They were consigned to different individuals living in the provinces of Dunaguete, Talisay City, Zamboanga City, Misamis Oriental and Loyola Heights, Quezon City.

The five other parcels containing Ecstasy tablets were shipped from countries like France, Amsterdam and the Netherlands, and were consigned to different individuals in Caloocan City and Bacoor, Cavite.

All seized illegal drugs were formally turned over by the BOC-NAIA to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Force Group for proper inventory.
