BOCAUE, Bulacan – A new milestone was set here in the Philippine Arena as 38,115 antendees watched the game between Gilas Pilipinas and the Dominican Republic in the FIBA Basketball World Cup.
This broke the previous record was back in the 1994 World Cup in Canada at 32,616 people attended the championship match between the United States and Russia.
Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to help Gilas Pilipinas as the Karl-Anthony Towns and the
Dominican Republic got away with the win, 87-81.
The Philippines will try to get a win against Angola on 27 August at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
