Rondina tows Choco Mucho closer to semis

Sisi Rondina once again led the way as Choco Mucho moved closer to a semifinals seat after crushing expansion team Foton, 25-19, 25-19, 25-14, in Pool B of the Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference Saturday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.

The new recruit put up another energetic showing, scoring 19 points for the Flying Titans second straight victory in as many games.

Rondina hammered in 15 kills, had three kill blocks and an ace while Chery Nunag and Des Cheng added 12 and 10 markers, respectively.

"I always show how I work and how I play so that I'd be be able to lead my teammates. I'm just happy that we're able to execute what our coaches want us to do," Rondina said.

Caitlyn Viray got seven points while Maddie Madayag had six markers for Choco Mucho, which outgunned its rival, 45-27.

The Tornadoes suffered their second straight defeat to get on the brink of missing the semis cut in their maiden professional league campaign.

Shaya Adorador was the lone Foton player in double figures with 10 points. Jaila Atienza had eight markers while Jasmine Nabor posted five points.
