A four-year-old girl suffered a terrible fate at the hands of her father's friend, after raping her and slitting her throat, in a cornfield in Pangasinan, last Friday.
Based on the Bayambang Police investigation, the victim was even able to walk a few meters away from the crime scene, as blood flowed from her neck in Barangay Reynado.
According to Barangay Reynaldo Chairman Joselito Sabangan, based on eyewitness accounts, the victim was buying candy in a sari-sari store near their house but didn't have enough money. The suspect, seeing the chance, paid for the candy the victim bought.
He then took the victim to the cornfield and fulfilled his worldly desire. The suspect was not satisfied and even slashed the victim's throat. He then her in the cornfield, thinking that she was already dead.
But the victim, after a while, was able to walk away from the scene of the crime with a deep wound on her neck, that's when some residents of the area who also knew her saw her and rushed her to the nearest medical center, but she was not lucky enough to survive.
The suspect was immediately arrested, and according to the police, he was drunk when he committed the crime.
The victim›s father also could not accept that his friend would do such a heinous act to her daughter.
The weapon believed to have been used to slash the victim's neck, was also recovered from the suspect.
