Bong Go aids indigents in Brooke’s Point, Bataraza, and Narra in Palawan

The Office of Sen. Bong Go provided aid to struggling residents of Brooke's Point, Bataraza, Narra in Palawan from 14 to 16 December as part of the senator's commitment to ensure that no Filipino is left behind in the country's recovery from the pandemic.

In his video message, Go vowed that he will continue to support government programs and measures to boost livelihood opportunities in the country, saying, "Mahirap talaga ang panahon ngayon. Naapektuhan po ang inyong kabuhayan pero huwag kayong mag-aalala dahil andito lang ang gobyerno upang tumulong sa inyo."

Go, as Chair of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, then encouraged those unvaccinated yet qualified beneficiaries to get their complete shots and boosters against COVID-19.

He also reassured that the government continues to roll out more vaccines to ensure that Filipinos are better safeguarded from the virus.

Go likewise strongly reminded the beneficiaries to bring their health concerns to the attention of appropriate public health providers. He offered to help the sick and elderly and advised them to avail of support from the government through the nearest Malasakit Centers.

The center is a one-stop shop which provides particularly poor and indigent patients convenient access to the medical assistance programs of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Health, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.

Held at the Octagon Covered gym in Brooke's Point, Municipal Coliseum in Bataraza, and Panacan 1 Covered Court in Narra, the senator's team gave away masks, snacks, and shirts to 1,250 struggling residents. They also provided shoes, computer tablets, bicycles, and balls for basketball and volleyball to select individuals.

A team from the DSWD likewise extended financial assistance to the beneficiaries.
