The list of nominees for the 2023 Golden Globes is out — and Dolly de Leon is in it.

According to The Hollywood Reporter (Golden Globes Nominations 2023: Complete Nominees List – The Hollywood Reporter), nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture are (in alphabetical order by surname): Angela Bassett, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever; Kerry Condon, The Banshees of Inisherin; Jamie Lee Curtis, Everything Everywhere All at Once; Dolly de Leon, Triangle of Sadness; Carey Mulligan, She Said.

The nomination was announced on the same day, 12 December (Philippine time), of the news that De Leon won Best Supporting Performance given by the Los Angeles Critics Association (LAFCA) for her breakout performance in Swedish filmmaker Ruben Östlund's Triangle of Sadness.

The film — which bagged the Palme d'Or, the highest prize at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival — created a worldwide buzz loud enough for De Leon to land at No. 10 on Variety's predicted nominees list for Best Supporting Actress at the 95th Academy Awards on 28 March 2023.

Triangle of Sadness, a black comedy on the lifestyles of the rich, cast De Leon as a toilet manager of a luxury yacht who assumes command of survivors when the yacht sinks from a pirates' attack.

In the statement sent to media following news of her victory at LAFCA, De Leon said: "It's an honor and a privilege to be recognized by critics who think outside the box and recognize the artistry of filmmaking. I'm proud to represent every individual who is struggling in his or her chosen industry — much like Abigail. Every single soul who's watched the film would know what I'm talking about. If you haven't, go and find out. It's still in cinemas dito sa 'tin. Para sa 'tin 'to."

De Leon tied with Vietnamese-American actor Ke Huy Quan (in the comedy-drama film Everything Everywhere All at Once), LAFCA announced on 12 December on Twitter.

Earlier, the US-based International Press Academy has nominated for De Leon for Best Supporting Actress at the 2022 Satellite Awards to be announced on 11 February 2023 in Los Angeles.

Movies and TV shows that were released during the 2022 calendar year are eligible for the awards.

The 2023 Golden Globes, hosted by Jerrod Carmichael, is set to air live from the Beverly Hilton on 10 January 2023.
