The Philippine peso on Tuesday, 6 December, improved against the US dollar and closed at P55.975 from P56.02 last Monday.
It opened the day weaker at P56.06, compared to the previous session's P55.05, and traded between P56.11 and P55.95.
The local currency stood at an average of P56.018.
Volume reached $776.56 million, lower than $1.15 billion last Tuesday.
