‘Rosal,’ ‘Samuel’ seen entering PAR

Weather bureau PAGASA said Friday that two tropical cyclones expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility this month may reach typhoon and super-typhoon categories.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration added that the TCs — to be named "Rosal" and "Samuel" once they enter the PAR — are likely to make landfalls.

However, weather specialist Benison Estareja said there is no expected low-pressure area until the weekend.

The shear line will continue to bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over the eastern part of the country, particularly in Camarines Norte and the northern portion of Quezon, this weekend, he said.

PAGASA said the rest of the country will experience isolated passing light rains until Sunday.

For Monday and Tuesday next week, the intertropical convergence zone will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Visayas and Mindanao, it added.
