Department of National Defense officer-in-charge Undersecretary Jose Faustino Jr. recognized the crucial role of the First Scout Ranger Regiment at the forefront of the military's internal security operations.

"For the past year alone, you, as a unit, conducted 302 combat operations, including 66 crucial armed engagements that led to the neutralization of several high-value targets and other peace spoilers," Faustino said, in time of the FSRR's 72nd founding anniversary over the weekend.

Faustino was earlier joined by Philippine Army Lt. Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. in a ceremonial anniversary celebration of FSRR at the Army's headquarters in Camp Tecson, San Miguel, Bulacan on 25 November.

The officials along with FSRR Commander Brig. Gen. Freddie de la Cruz also lauded the outstanding officers and men of the regiment who have shown exemplary skill, stamina, and spirit in the performance of their duties, which significantly contributed to the success of various military operations.

De la Cruz highlighted the regiment's collective drive to push for lasting peace and development in their areas of responsibility.

"FSRR has shouldered its share of the ttask towards the accomplishment of the Philippine Army's mission, and the AFP's mission in general. Our line units have significantly contributed to the different area commands and Joint Task Forces from where they are deployed," De la Cruz said.
