Cignal Entertainment, the film and television unit in charge of blocktime shows on TV5, resumes the "Cignal Entertainment Showbiz Caravan" which was recently launched at Starmall Edsa Shaw in Mandaluyong.
The second leg of the mall show series was held at Starmall San Jose del Monte City in Bulacan on 17 and 19 November. The stars of Sing Galing, Suntok Sa Buwan, Sing Galing Kids, Oh My Korona, and Kalye Kweens performed.
There was a media conference at Provenciano restaurant at Teachers Village in Quezon City before the stars drove to San Jose del Monte — an hour away by private vehicle.
Randy Santiago, one of the Sing Galing hosts, seemed to have been the last to leave the restaurant — probably since he was the most in-demand interviewee of the day.
Fellow host K Brosas also found time to huddle with the group of showbiz scribes.
Santiago was asked whether he's moving to Manny Villar's AllTV network, since he's been known as a very close friend of Willie Revillame — who's believed to have been persuading stars and talents to leave their old networks for AllTV.
Santiago, who was once a member of the Cicada Band along with Revillame, admitted the latter had been badgering him not only to star in a show or two, but also to direct whatever shows he can conceptualize on AllTV. He has directed some editions of Revillame's game show Wowowin.
He said the reason he couldn't commit to Revillame is he's still under contract with Cornerstone Productions, which produces Sing Galing. He seems willing to be renewed for another season of the show, whose grand finals will be held early next month.
Brosas is said to be one of the top-earning performing artists in the country. She happily announced that her multimillion house under construction in Quezon City has been completed, and that she and her daughter have moved in. It's the same house from which the original contractor ran away with Brosas' P7 million full payment while building it.
She said it leaves her with no choice but to sue the contractor even if they were friends before.
We also sat down with young actor Paolo Angeles of the movie series Suntok sa Buwan and Mr. Pooh of the sit-com My Korona.
Suntok sa Buwan, starring Aga Muhlach and Elijah Canlas, is on its last few weeks. They play father and son who are both boxers, though the father is retired and secretly sick with cancer.
It was shot in the non-tourist attraction areas of Baguio City using movie cameras. Paolo is the best friend of Elijah and, later, a rival for the heart of the lovely tiangge vendor portayed by Maris Racal.
Cignal Entertainment shows are also aired on the company's streaming platforms.
