Sen. Bong Go, who heads the Senate Committee on Sports, continues to advocate for sports development at the grassroots as he had his team mount a relief activity for struggling residents in Nunungan, Lanao del Norte on Friday, 11 November.

In his video message, Go stressed that sports activities can benefit one's physical and mental health. For this reason, he encouraged everyone to participate in more physical activities and avoid illegal vices, especially substance abuse.

Get into sports, stay away from drugs," encouraged Go.

The distribution activity was held at the municipal hall for 600 disadvantaged residents. Go's team handed out shirts, masks, vitamins and snacks to the residents. They also provided umbrellas, shoes, and cellular phones to select individuals.

In addition, the team gave away bicycles and balls for volleyball and basketball to select individuals as part of the senator's sports advocacy.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development, in turn, extended financial aid.
