José Rizal University on 9 November issued a statement concerning its varsity basketball player John Amores who figured in a brawl against members of the College of St. Benilde team.
JRU said it has suspended Amores indefinitely, a decision that is "separate from whatever decision the NCAA Management Committee may have."
The university likewise apologized to the basketball community for the incident, saying "violence has no part in the sport of basketball."
