Man collared over minor’s ‘rape’

A man landed in jail Sunday for the alleged rape of a minor, also said to be facing mental health issues, in Navotas City.

City police chief P/Col. Dexter Ollaging identified the suspect arrested by village guards as Rodante Tenso, 40, of Barangay Tangos.

The women's and children's protection desk of the Navotas police said the 15-year-old left their house at about 3 p.m. to buy food when she was enticed by the suspect to come with him to his house to play.

The minor was able to run out of the suspect's house after she was allegedly raped. She recounted her ordeal to concerned citizens in the area who then called the barangay tanods leading to Tenso's arrest.

A case of statutory rape was filed by the police against Tenso.
