PPA swift action immediately normalizes operations at Port of Lucena

The Port of Lucena, under the Port Management Office of Marinduque/Quezon (MarQuez), is now under full commercial operations, catering to the sea-riding public as face-to-face classes start after the celebration of All Saints' Day.

This after the Port of Lucena, in cooperation with the Lucena City Risk Reduction Management Office, cleared all debris at the port, which slightly slowed down the movement of vessels after the onslaught of Tropical Storm "Paeng" last weekend.

"The Port of Lucena is now under optimum conditions. The port is clean and so is the entire port facility since 1 November," PMO MarQuez Port Manager Eligio Fortajada said.

PPA General Manager Jay Daniel R. Santiago appealed for understanding from those affected by the slight delays in vessel turnaround, and encouraged the sea-going public to approach any personnel from the agency to report any port-related concern for immediate action.

"PPA, as an agency, is extending its apology to the public, particularly at the Port of Lucena, considering that our personnel were also devastated by Tropical Storm 'Paeng'. We made our investigation and immediately plotted our action plan the moment we heard about this concern. This swift action translated to the immediate resumption of the full commercial operations of the port since All Saints' Day," Santiago said.
