The Office of the City Prosecutor of Caloocan City dismissed the charges filed by the Caloocan City Police Station against a woman accused by the police of faking her attempted abduction last month.

Assistant City Prosecutor Marni Rose D. Zatarain dismissed the CCPS case against Samantha Pargad due to lack of probable cause.

Last September, the CCPS charged Pargad with unlawful means of publication and unlawful utterances under Article 154 of the Revised Penal Code, and libel under Art 353 of the RPC.

This was after Pargad allegedly said that a man on a motorcycle, who allegedly identified himself as a "policeman", attempted to abduct her along Alma Jose St., Barangay 177, which went viral on social media.

The police said that Pargad's statements were false based on CCTV camera footage and statements of other witnesses.

The police, on the other hand, ordered a reinvestigation into the incident. Pargad also apologized for the inconvenience and damage the incident caused.
