Markus Paterson has no plans of changing his statement on his regret in dating celebrities even after receiving backlash on the Internet.

In the third episode of Boys After Dark uploaded on YouTube this Saturday, 17 September, Paterson made a quick statement to address his controversial comment after netizens assumed that it was about his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his son, Janella Salvador.

"I stand by what I said because what I said comes from my past, from my truth, and that's my honest opinion about my future potential relationships," Paterson said.

"Secondly, h'wag kayong mag-assume. Okay? Let's not jump to conclusions or anything because you kinda are," referring to netizens who quickly connected the issue to Salvador.

Lastly, the 24-year-old actor addressed his status with the actress, and shared that they are still good friends. "I respect Janella to the utmost of my ability — the woman that she has become, the mother that she has become."

"I will love her forever. She has given me the best gift of my life," he said after quickly ending his statement to formally open the show.

The two recently confirmed their break-up separately, and currently co-parenting their two-year-old son, Jude.

"She's an amazing mother and I'm trying to be an amazing father," Markus said minutes before ending episode three "WTF moments and deepest regrets in Life."

He continued, "Biggest blessing, of course, yeah, Jude. Jude is for sure my biggest blessing. And the fact that she's the one who gave him to me."

"I will never not love her. Maybe not romantically anymore but she will always be a huge part of my heart," he added.

The 14-second clip circulated online was from the pilot episode of Boys Before Dark where it contains Paterson bluntly stating, ''Never to f*cking date someone in the industry!" While he never mentioned names, it quickly trended after rumors that he and Janella had already broken up.
