Pagunsan climbs to joint 22nd

He missed only two greens but required 33 putts to complete the round.

Juvic Pagunsan birdied two of the last four holes to carve out a two-under-par 69 and take a share of 22nd place in the 38th Shinhan Donghae Open at the Koma Country Club in Japan Saturday.

The 44-year-old Filipino made three birdies against one bogey to move to 10-under with 18 holes to go.

Pagunsan reached the turn on even par following a birdie on 3 and a bogey on 9. He birdied 14 and 17 coming home.

He missed only two greens but required 33 putts to complete the round.

Thai Tirawat Kaewsiribandit opened a three-shot lead after shooting a 66 on the strength of six birdies against a single bogey.

He was 19-under through 54 holes, three shots ahead of Korean Siwoo Kim who carded a 67.

Kim strung up four straight birdies from 11 and added another on 17 to counter two bogeys in the front nine.

Tied for third on 15-under were Canadian Yonggu Shin and Korean Sanghee Lee who fired 68 and 66, respectively.
