A new TV series, One For All, All For One, stars Gladys Reyes of Mara Clara fame. It is the debut family sitcom of INCTV, a religious, non-commercial, free-TV channel of the Iglesia Ni Cristo, which is separate from NET25. An advance media screening of its pilot episode was held on 4 September at the Iglesia Ni Cristo Museum in Quezon City.
Also in the cast is Reyes' real-life family: husband Christopher Roxas, and children Christophe, Aquisha, and Grant.
One For All is about an ordinary Filipino family caught in an extraordinary global health crisis. Produced by the Christian Era Broadcasting Service, One For All is decidedly wholesome.
Director Nestor Malgapo Jr. (Kapayapaan sa Gitna ng Digmaan) emphasized One For All was not created to preach to the audience about religion, but to entertain and uplift the spirit of Filipino audiences.
Through One For All, Malgapo and the sitcom's five writers also wanted to debunk the myth that INC members are boring since they are known to be disciplined and strive to live a life of obedience to God.
"We (the writers and producers) wanted to show that INC members are not stiff," Malgapo said at the media conference. "We can be fun, too — and most of all, we face our problems with positivity."
The sitcom's core objective is to bring laughter to the audience as they relate to how a mom, a dad, and their four kids go through life's ups and downs.
Malgapo also underscored that Reyes and Roxas, who've been together for 29 years as a celebrity couple, are known in showbiz for their strong marriage. Their unique marital bliss, Malgapo said, is one of the inspirations for the sitcom.
Roxas said the show is a dream project for him and "God's answered prayer." He said he's also elated to be working with his real-life family.
One For All, All For One which also stars other INC artists such as Manolo Silayan, Antonio Aquitania, Paulyn Poon, Bidaman Jiro Custodio and Ada Tinio, will premiere on INCTV in October.
