Runway fashion shows have always attempted to produce a theatrical experience for attending
guests-cum-patrons and, hopefully, future new clients to join the bandwagon. It emphasizes the whimsical and the dramatic offered by the world of fashion. Most shows leave a lasting impression.
One such fabulous and unforgettable extravaganza was recently presented at the Waterfront Hotel during the 55th Emerald Anniversary of Oro China, creators of exquisite hand-crafted jewelries led by the woman of the hour Lucita Ty, its founder, and Jennifer Viloria Ty, chief operating officer, who wore exquisite creations that were absolutely stunning and glamorous.
The eight participating Cebu-based designers — Cary Santiago, Philip Rodriguez, Protacio, Jun Escario, Phillip Tampus, Hanz Coquilla, Rei Escario, and Mike Yapching
— were inspired to highlight one-of-a-kind formal evening attires that brought new levels in fashion with unprecedented flair and allure.
The fashion experts were assigned colors that complemented or contrasted with the jewelries. Cary Santiago and Philip Rodriguez opted for black and white for irresistible visual appeal. Brothers Jun and Rei Escario showcased designs in gray and green that exuded romance and vibrancy. Protacio's exquisite blue gowns connoted calmness and serenity, while Mike Yapching's earth tone outfits reflected timelessness and inner balance. Hanz Coquilla made a bold statement with gowns in red and maroon. Lastly, Phillip Tampus with gowns in pastel pink, brought femininity and calmness to the stage.
These elegant pieces were made more alive by the chosen models, whose lineup included several national and international beauty queen title holders, who all ramped up and down a clear platform.
Not to be outdone was the main draw — the close-ups of jewelries to covet, desire, and dream of.
