A 31-year-old male rider died after colliding with an SUV at the corner of Shaw Boulevard and Sheridan Street in Mandaluyong City Sunday morning.

The fatality identified as Rhensy G. Rentosa of Bagong Silang, Mandaluyong City was killed on the spot after he was thrown by the impact of his Suzuki Raider motorcycle with the right front part of the Nissan Terra and landed hard on the pavement, according to an accident report.

The driver of the SUV, Mike Oliver A. Mateo, 33, of Tondo, Manila was held in police custody after the crash and facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.

Based on initial investigation, Rentosa was travelling along Shaw Blvd. eastbound coming from the Shaw flyover when he hit the SUV which was crossing Shaw Blvd. coming from San Miguel Avenue and heading towards Sheridan St. in a north to south direction. (With Al Padilla)
